Asturias en Chile

Gracias Art y Terechu por la bienvenida, me alegra tanto encontrar a fanáticos como yo de la Asturias del alma mía.
Como dije anteriormente soy chilena pero de padre asturiano, de un pueblín llamado Robriguero, cercano a Panes en el consejo de Peñamellera Baja. Mi padre salió como muchos otros en la década del 50, huyendo de toda la escasez material e intelectual en que se encontraba España después de la guerra, mi güelu vendió un par de vacas para pagar el pasaje en barco que lo traería al país de fin del mundo, Chile. Se trajo también los recuerdos de su tierra, las historias y las tradiciones con la que sus descendientes hemos crecido. También se trajo la enorme capacidad de trabajo de los que nacen en esas tierras.
La comunidad Asturiana en Chile es numerosa, organizada y muy activa, me atrevo a decir que es una de las colectividades más fuertes en Chile y los que participamos estamos firmemente ligados a Asturias a través de nuestras raíces y costumbres que mantenemos vivas.

Thank you Art and Terechu for the welcome, makes me happy so much to find to fanatics like me of the Asturias of my soul.
As I said previously I am Chilean with asturian father from a small village called Robriguero, near to Panes, in Consejo de Peñamellera Baja. My father went out as many people in the decade of 50, running away of the whole material and intellectual poverty in which one was finding Spain after the war, my grandfather sold a couple of cows to pay the ticket by ship that would bring him to the country of end of the world, Chile. There were brought also the recollections of his land, the histories and the traditions with that his descendants have grown. Also he brought the enormous capacity of work who are born in these lands
The Asturian community in Chile is numerous, organized and very active, I dare to say that it is one of the strongest collectivities in Chile and those that we inform we are firmly tied to Asturias across our roots and customs that we keep alive.

Qué historia interesante. ¿Hay una banda de gaites allí? ¿Tienes sidra, queso de cabrales, y el jamón?

¿Cuántos asturianos viven allí? (Tal vez sea más fácil decir cuánta gente tiene como socios el Centro Asturiano allí.)

That's an interesting history. Do you have a gaita band there? Can you get cider, Cabrales cheese, and ham?

How many Asturians do you think are there? (Maybe it'd be easier to say how many people are members of the local Centro Asturiano.)

Si, Art, tenemos banda de gaites y escuela de gaites para los niños. También bolera, horrio, escuela de bolos para los más pequeños, 4 grupos de baile ( separados por edades). Además tenemos exelentes relaciones con el gobierno del Principado de Asturias por lo que nuestros jóvenes y niños viajan constantemente a Asturias a las escuelas de asturianía,gaita, etc. Y por supuesto estamos recibiendo constantemente visitas desde Asturias.
No tengo lainformación de exactamente cuantos asturianos hay en todo Chile, solo te puedo decir que en nuestra último día de la Santina tuvimos 1.000 personas a comer solo en la ciudad de Santiago. En Santiago la colectividad Asturiana funciona en el Estadio Español que agrupa a otras asociaciones españolas pero que fue fundado por asturianos hace alrrededor de 60 años: www.estadioespanoldelascondes.cl
