No sé si esta "cancion" ya la ha puesto alguien aqui, pero la pongo. Me la cantaba siempre mi bisabuela cuando era pequeño.

I don't know if anyone wrote this song here, but I'm going to write it. My great grandmother always sang it to me when I was a child.

---------------------------------------------

Dime paxarín parleru
Dime que comes
como areninas del mar
y del campu flores

Tienes unos güeyus neña
y unes pestañes
y una l.lingüina parlera
con que me engañes

dicen que murriou el raposu
quien lo dixera
que asesinou las cabras
ya las ovel.las

---------------------------------------------

Tell me little talking bird
Tell me what do you eat
I eat sand in the sea
and flowers in the field

Girl, you have eyes
and you have eyelashes
and a talking tongue
with which you cheat me

They said the fox is dead
I don´t think so
because the goats are dead
and the sheep, too

---------------------------------------------

(Sorry for the bad English.
Si alguien lo sabe traducir mejor...)

Bienvenido, Paxarín, y gracias por poner la canción. He retocado el inglés un poco para ti.

------------------

Welcome, Paxarín, and thanks for posting the song. I've tweaked the English for you a little.

Paxarin, don't worry about your Engish. It's quite good, certainly better than my Asturian.

L'Academia del L.lingua Asturiana has delightful recordings of traditional songs sung by chilldren.

Cantares vieyos... voces nueves (Old Songs...New Voices)
NACHO FONSECA.1999 [Axunta CD]. P.V.P.: 11,42 €

Cantares vieyos... voces nueves II
NACHO FONSECA.2001 [Axunta CD]. P.V.P.: 11,42 €

http://www.academiadelallingua.com/comun.php?seccion=otres

The first is available from AsturShop at http://www.asturshop.com/asturshop/infoprod.asp?idproducto=1155 and contains "Dime paxarín parleru," minus the third verse.

An additional tweak to the first two verses in English (all a matter of taste, of course):

Tell me little chattering bird,
Tell me what you eat
I eat the little sands of the sea
And the flowers of the field.

You have such eyes, little girl,
And such eyelashes,
And a little chattering tongue
With which you deceive me.
