Oviedo has different meanings. But it's possble that your great-grandfather was from the city Oviedo.

When you write for documents, be sure to give them the names of the child's parents and if possible grandparents. You'll almost certainly need to know the town or at least concejo in which they were born. It often helps to use marriage and death records to firm up those details.
