When I was a child in Moundsville, West Virginia my Grandmother would bake bread. When you would go into the house the aroma of baking bread would be so wonderful. She would take it out of the oven and we would eat it with butter that melted into the bread.

We would have it with out dinner...and the next day she would send it in my Grandfather's lunch pail with chorizo and hot coffee. My Grandmother and I would go to the smelter to take him his lunch.

Days gone by...

Babrara, my dad, Manuel Diaz, (who passed away last week) also lived in Moundsville, WV. His dad worked in the smelter. My grandmother made 13 loaves of bread every other day to feed her family of 10.
