For English keyboard users who need to type Spanish characters, there are several programs that may be useful. There is a free one at http://spanish.typeit.org/.
Characters include á é í ñ ó ú ü ¿ and ¡ |

Hey, Bob,
Does it do Asturian characters.... like you! [This is a joke. In English "character" has several meanings, including "an unusual or amusing person" and "the symbols on a keyboard".]
It's great to see you here!

Oye, Bob,
¿También hace caracters asturianos .... como tú! [Bromeo.

If you are using a pc go to start/all programs/accessories/System tools/Character map and you'll find pretty much every character there is for several languages. Some of these I have no idea what they might be like what are these? ᾦ, Ὢ, ∫ or ₹ I have no clue. But I do get to use all the good ones like ñ or á.
