Uno De los sistemas tradicionales de cierres extendidos, desde luego por Europa, y ya concretamente en Asturias era el denominado “barganal” propio de países en donde existían y abundaban bosques que permitían el aprovechamiento de maderas y ramas

En los valles centrales, donde siempre abundó la madera, los praos se cerraban (y cierran) con bárganes. En mi casa había un dicho para los timoratos e indecisos que ponían pegas a todo con su eterno "y si...", a éstos se les decía: "y si cae'l cielu y se espeta peles bárganes?"
