No recordaba su nombre, pero sí su corto El beso de la tierra, que ví en el Festival de cine de Gijón hace unos años. Trata de la muerte de los 14 mineros del Pozo S. Nicolás (Nicolasa) de HUNOSA en 1995 por una explosión de grisú y siempre pensé que esta película debería ser imprescindible para cualquier asturiano y más los de la cuenca minera. Deberían proyectarla en las escuelas. La peli se rodó en los pozos Sotón y María Luisa y en el embalse de Tanes.
Ahora Lucinda ha vuelto a ganar, esta vez en el festival de Madrid, otro premio con su documental "Resistencia" sobre la lucha de los despedidos del tallerón de Barros de Duro Felguera.
Sus documentales dan fé del declive de la antaño poderosa industria pesada de Asturias, que habrá desaparecido en menos de dos generaciones. Un testigo del tiempo que no tiene precio.

I didn't remember her name, but I did remember her short film "El beso de la tierra" (The Kiss of Earth), which I saw at the Gijón Film Festival a few years back. It is about the death of 14 coal miners in a methane explosion in Hunosa's mine Pozo San Nicolás in 1995. I think this film is a must for all Asturians and more so for those born in the Asturian coal fields. It should be shown in schools. The film was shot in Hunosa's pits Pozo Sotón and Pozo María Luisa and the Tanes Dam.
Now Lucinda has won yet another award, this time at the Madrid festival, for her documentary "Resistencia" about the struggle of the laid off workers at Duro Felguera's Barros factory.
Her films bear witness to the decline of Asturias' once mighty heavy industry which has all but disappeared in less than 2 generations. A priceless witness of our times.
