The time is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) by default. You can change it to your local time.
To change your time, click on the "Profile" link at the top of the screen. This brings up a form in which you can change your registration data and change settings on your AsturianUS.org account.
Scroll down to almost the bottom of the screen. There you'll see "Timezone". The setting you choose depends on where you live:
Your Time Zone Setting Your Location
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EET Eastern European GMT +2 Hours Finland, Eastern Europe
CET Central European GMT +1 Hours Western Europe, Sweden, Spain
GMT Greenwich Mean none United Kingdom, Portugal
AST Atlantic Standard GMT -4 Hours Halifax
EST Eastern Standard GMT -5 Hours NY, DC, Toronto, Montreal
CST Central Standard GMT -6 Hours Chicago, Houston, Winnipeg
MST Mountain Standard GMT -7 Hours Denver, Calgary, Edmonton
PST Pacific Standard GMT -8 Hours LA, San Fransisco, Vancouver
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then click on "Submit" to complete the change. Be careful that you don't scroll down from the time you have chosen. Check the time again on the main forum page.
There is so much variation in the start and end of Daylight Savings Time between regions and nations, that the forum can't adjust for DST. This means that the time will incorrect in the summer months. If you're really bothered by the incorrect time, you'll have to set your time an hour less in the summer months. |
