I am off to St Louis (missouri) 6-17 august for work I will be staying in the city for all that period.

Are there any good spanish restaurants ? what other places are good to eat in the city ? our office is slightly off central st Louis in somewhere called creve couer ( right spelling there ? ) but we would get a car so driving to the centre should not be an issue ...

It is my first time in the US as well so it is quite exciting ,,

Any other advice would be very welcome ... Smile

I don't think there is much left of Asturian culture in St. Louis or East St. Louis, even though my family and others lived there in the early 1910's. In any event, an internet search does not show many Spanish restaurants. I hope the name Creve Coeur does not live up to its literal translation.

In any event, if you want to make a stop in New England on your way there or back, let me know.

I think one of our members (who's in grad school now and thus not participating of late) has a family restaurant there. I think it's MDSuarez.

Even if it's not her, she'll know. She's really knowledgeable about Asturians in St. Louis.

Ah, here it is!

Sorry i didn't see this thread sooner. I live about 25 minutes from de St. Louis. There is a Spanish resturaunt on Shaw ave. on "The Hill" called Modesto. They have tapas. From the date of the post, this information came too late.

here is the web adress: http://www.saucemagazine.com/modesto/
