Terechu has pointed out in a post that on English maps for "Mar Cantábrica" is called "the Bay of Biscay".

Language is a living thing, which changes in different communities and different times and places.

Let's find out what the Americans of Asturian descent call it in English.

Note: Only native English speakers should participate for the results to be worth anything.

When I returned to this page, I didn't see the poll. If you have the same experience, it's still here, but it may be above the first post, so you have to scroll up to see the poll.

Also, if you see just a poll, no results, that simply means that you haven't voted yet. Evidently you aren't allowed to see the results until after you vote.

So, for those are aren't native English-speakers, allow me to report on the results as of January 24, 2004:

Native English-speaking Asturian-Americans: What do you call the Mar Cantábrica when you speak in English?
Bay of Biscay - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 40% [ 4 ]
Bay of Cantabria - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 10% [ 1 ]
Cantabrian Sea - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 40% [ 4 ]
Where or what is it? I've never heard of it! - 10% [ 1 ]

Bay of Biscay - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 40% [ 4 ]
Bay of Cantabria - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 10% [ 1 ]
Cantabrian Sea - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 40% [ 4 ]
¿Qué o dónde es? ¡No lo conozco! - - - - - - - 10% [ 1 ]
Other (¡por favor dinos en una respuesta!) - 0% [ 0 ]
