| Let's say that I'm looking for a house or at least a street of my ancestors. I have possibly city names or regions and I know that they owned their home according to the 1920 census. Does anyone know if there is someone or something I can contact to find the location of the home or street or vicinity? Definitely Harrison county, probably anmoore? And I want to say coal?according to records. Maybe spelter? They moved often but I'm pretty sure the last location in wv was anmoore. Last name Zapico. Also, probably close to holy cross cemetery. I'm sure the area may be gone but at least I'll know where it was. Thanks! |

| Spelter is in coal district, Holy Cross is in Clarksburg about eight to ten miles from Spelter and five to seven miles from Anmoore. I was born in Spelter and had family who lived in Anmoore , I don't know what district Anmoore is in I'll try to look that up. |

zapico, I did a search of the State Archives and found records for several Zapico families beginning in s1907. The town of Ziesing, Clarksburg and Grasselli (later named Anmoore), Harrison Co., West Virginia are noted.
Elisa Fernandez & Braulis Zapico, both born in Spain, were married Feb 18,1907 All their parents are listed.
Go to this site and choose marriage, birth or death records:
http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_select.aspx
There should also be title records in the Harrison County and/or State Archives if you have names and dates.
Let me know if you need help.
Good luck - Joni _________________ Joniwrite1 |

| Might you know what department I would have to contact in Harrison county, that would have title records of homes going back to the twenties? And I'm assuming I would have to call them? |

In West Virginia, these records are usually housed in the court houses and I think they're under the control of the county clerk. Here's a link to Harrison County's clerk:

That page has an email and phone number for her. |
