encargar? Muchas gracias, Raquel

My daughter is going to get married soon and I'm looking for a mantilla like those who wear the groom and the bride. Here in Miami Florida at this moment every thing they sell is just made of rayon or polyester and artificial ones...
I'm looking for a handmade ivory coloured mantilla and made with silk like 100 cm long and 28cm wide or more.
I've been told that the handmade ones look much better...
Could someone tell me if they made it in Asturies and where to order some? Than you very much, Raquel

I also think that if you're going to wear a mantilla, it has to be handcrafted. If not, you're wearing just a veil, but the handmade mantillas are special (and very expensive). I'll give you a link from craftsmen from Granada, but there have to be more

Yo busque "mantilla" y me salieron unas cuantas.

For me the link sems to work. It's a pity, because they have really good prices and every kind of mantillas. But surely you could find some other page on your own. I looked for "mantilla" and I've found some.

My aunt( in Cuba )sent me one mantilla from my grand mother....
I put it in Oxyclean and it was a mess.....I wanted to cry, but
I told myself, there are other important things to cry for...so..
I wanted to buy a new one.
I am looking for a mantilla that it is used to cover the shoulders
of the bride's and groom's during the catholic marriage
ceremony. Nowadays some people use a big, long rosary to
put around the bride's and groom's shoulders...but I think it
is a Mexican tradition, not the Cuban Spanish tradition, so
I want a big rectangular mantilla. Thanks!

Gracias !

Try the flamenco websites. I think www.flamencoexport.com has mantillas españolas. Also go to http://www.lands-faraway.com/wedding_lace.htm

Thanks Natalia. Raquel parece que el link que nos facilita Natalia www.lands-faraway.com is from a warehouse in Miami. They do seem to import Spanish articles and although they are very expensive, it is also true that you would save customs fees and shipping charges.

Thanks Natalia! Thanks Terechu !

That place is in Florida, but not near Miami. The mantillas look beautiful
but they are made of rayon or polyester...the price is good, but I was
looking for a hand made silk...the ones I found in Miami are also polyester
or rayon, machine made...the price is like hand made...so...Anita my friend
went to Spain and she bought the perfect one, it was the same price as
the expensive ones here but the one she bought is silk and hand made.

Hola!
Saludos!
