CAXIGALINES

Post by Marta Elena Díaz García »

Caxigalines: el significado es el de cosas de pequeño valor, cosas sin importancia, como algunos dichos, estrofas o refranes que pongo aquí.

MEANING OF CAXIGALINES: trifle, trinket, knick-knack, as some you can see below.

ASTURIANO
Dices que me quies abondo,
pos yo te lo pagaré;
ya verás, cuando te muerras
que bien t’amortáyaré.

ENGLISH
You say you love me a lot,
then I'll pay you it,
you will see, when you die
how properly I'll shroud you.

ASTURIANO
Tóos miren po la vida;
pero la vida ¿qué ye?
como angun sabiu lo dixo,
tamien yo vos lo diré.
Ye trabayar pa comer,
y ye comer pa vivir,
y ye vivir pa gociar,
y ye gociar pa sintir,
ye sintir pa paecer,
ye paecer pa’nfermar,
y ye enfermar pa morrer,
y morrer pa descansar.

ENGLISH
All take care of life
But, what is life?
As some wise said it,
I also say,
It is working for eating,
and it is eating for living,
and it is living for enjoying,
and it is enjoying for feeling,
it is feeling for suffering,
it is suffering for falling ill,
and it is falling ill to die,
and it is to die to rest.
