Susana Fernández Fdez journalist, business professor, fashio

Post by Jasm »

Born in Venezuela, although a Spaniard, Susana is the daughter of an Asturian father (Alberto) and a Galician mother (Josefina). Her father was born in Cerredo, part of the Degana Council, from where the majority of his ancestors come, although a few were also from the nearby Cangas del Narcea (previously Cangas de Tineo), and other bordering municipalities of Leon. As it was the case for many Spaniards, Susana's father became part of the diaspora after the Civil War (1936-39); an event which had caused his family an irreparable wound. Susana's mother was born in Arco de Freixo, a municipality belonging to Fonsagrada, in Lugo, an area bordering with Asturias. As the popular saying goes: "Galicians and Asturians, cousins and siblings", and in this case, from the dispensation, Susana came to be.

She studied in Spain and completed her studies in the United States, where she has carried out her professional career. She has been in academia for many years where, among other duties, she has been responsible for fundraising efforts. She also has supervised the visa procedures, as well as the social participation and integration, of international students. Additionally, she has worked as a journalist for Antena 3 and the EFE Agency in Spain, and has contributed to a subsidiary of the Chicago Tribune. Not only that, she has also worked in public relations and advertising for international clients. At the end, she turned to teaching, becoming a professor at Florida Atlantic University, for the Department of Management Programs and International Business in the School of Business. Despite her academic endeavors, she has carved out time to focus on one of her passions, fashion, and to that end, she has created a blog to inspire others, while also sharing tips on how to set and decorate tables depending on the occasion, with an elegant and delicate style. You can visit her blog on its new platform.
