Cantares de mina / songs from the coal mines

Post by Terechu »

I just bought a CD called "Songs from the coal mines" with - obviously - 12 traditional miners' songs. The best is that the singers are very young, some already well known, others just barely starting and still a little stiff, but all of them with beautiful voices.

The best, in my opinion, the Leonese Angeles González, with a smokey voice (the Dusty Springfield of the "Toná") and great technique.
Sergio Agüeros has a powerful voice, but still lacks some "feeling".
Fernando Valle Roso has a very beautiful voice and in 5 or 6 years he could be really good.
And not to forget the virtuosity of Oscar Fernández on the bagpipe! He keeps getting better every year.
