Looking for information on Blas Alvarez from Martin de Laspara, Oviedo. Daughter was Maria.

Maria was born March 25, 1882. Her birthplace was Castrillon, I think. She married Nicolas Galan. Nicholas' birthplace was St. Martin, June 5, 1885. No info on parents.

You can write to the Registro Civil for the birth certificates of the persons you are interested in. It takes a while, but they do respond (at least the Registro Civil in Castrillón does). I think their records go back to the early 1870's.

Be sure to write in Spanish, and to provide full names (given name, first surname, second surname) and birth dates. You may wish to ask for a photocopy of the actual document. This will usually list the names of the parents, and sometimes the names of the grandparents as well.
