Ayuda mitológica

Post by enedina »

¡Hola! Gracias.

Hello! I am a teacher of Asturian and this next course I am going to undertake an investigation of Asturian mythology. The project will consist of a comparison of some Asturian mythological beings (Trasgu, Nuberu, Cuélebre…) with similar beings of other cultures (Inca, Aztec, Greek, Roman…). That's why I'm requesting assistance. If somebody knows some link on the internet that could help me, please send it to me. Thanks.

When I was working at the Asturian tent at the Potomac Celtic Festival, a woman got excited by our forum member Alfonso's chart of Asturian mythological characters. She pointed to each character and told me what it was called in English. I think she was relating them to Irish mythology. I was impressed, but don't remember even one name! Sorry.

You may want to ask Mouguais. He's a good resource on mythology and a charming person. One of his messages is here:

Tal vez desees pedir a Mouguais.

I also think you should contact Alberto Álvarez Peña. He has written some books on this topic. Here's a biographical sketch about him: http://www.araz.net/escritores/alvpena.htm
I've not been able to find a website for him.

Hola;
http://www.geocities.com/bruxas_astur/
También puedes bajar información desde:
http://www.geocities.com/mouguias/
o desde:
http://www.celtas.org

[Art: message from Vitor]

Hello,
There are not many web pages about Asturian mythology. A very basic one is:
http://www.geocities.com/bruxas_astur/
Also you can download information from:
http://www.geocities.com/mouguias/
or from:
http://www.celtas.org

In any case it would be much easier to find the information in print media. Alberto Alvarez Peña has several books written on the subject that you'll find of much more helpful.

Greetings
