En un foro sobre la emigración, come este y un subforo de Cancionero, me parece oportuno compartir algunas de las canciones que se dedicó en Asturias a la emigración.

De este mismo autor, les escribo la letra de una canción que no consigo recordar el titulo, ni encontrarla por la red, pero que aun recuerdo de mi adolescencia. Perodonad los puristas del asturiano, ya que escribo de memoria y sin mirar las normas de la "Academia l'llingua".

This is just a sample of the feelings of those who for one reason or another had to leave Asturias. I hope you like it. |

¡Gracias, Indalecio! Dudo de que sabemos aquí en los EE.UU. la importancia de la emigración en la cultura asturiana. Hay tanto más sentimiento allí sobre este tema que podemos los americanos imaginar. Es que había -- y sigue habiendo -- tantos asturianos huyendo de Asturias para una vida mejor, aunque nunca van a encontrar otra lugar tan precioso y a otro pueblo tan cariñoso y generoso. Thanks, Indalecio! I doubt that those of us in the US are aware of the importance of emigration in Asturian culture. There is much more feeling there about this topic than we Americans can imagine. That's because there was -- and continues to be -- so many Asturians pouring out of Asturias for a better life, although they will never find another place as beautiful or another people as warm and generous. Here is a recent example of someone preparing to leave:
