Wenn ich dich richtig verstanden habe, so hat die landwirtschaftliche Produktionsgenossenschaft in der ehemaligen DDR oder eben die 'Kolkhoz' in der UdSSR gar nicht mit einer 'farmers'/land collective' in Amerika zu tun.

Vielleicht irre ich mich da, aber es klingt so wie eine Landeskooperative mit guenstigen Preisen fuer Bauern. In dem Sinn, gibt es die auch in Asturien.

Die asturische u. galizische Landwirtschaft hat, im Vergleich zu Russland oder Amerika oder sogar Sued-Spanien, keine Tradition fuer riesige Farms. Dort waren es meistens ganz kleine Flaechen. Statt 'latifundios' gab es 'minifundios'. Das waere wiederum auf die Berge sowie auf das atlantisch-keltische Erbe zurueckzufuehren.

Der Onkel von dem ich sprach hat eine Huette oben im Gebirg, etwa 25km von L'Infiestu (Pilona) entfernt u. ich helfe ihm ab und zu mit der Arbeit. Er kauft alles moegliche bei der Kooperative unten im Dorf, sehr preiswert u. wie gesagt der Service ist immer freundlich.

hola is, no, el texto que leí era sobre campesinos en algún lado de sudamérica. y no pareció hablábamos de colectivos que tú refieres. sonó más que escribes sobre la gente agrícola en asturias.

sí, el terreno en las montañas no es bueno para agricultura industrial. me recuerda al área donde mi padre vivé. gerold, un muy pequeña aldea entre gramisch-partenkirchen y mittelwald { bavaria }.

los campesinos allá esta pagado por el gobierno por secando la hierba de buckelwiesen - porque no es 'productivo' a cultivar algo allá. { no lo di a innumerables campesinos que viven y trabajan en el alto-plano en américa del sur. los vi. hut ab; i tip my hat }.

apropósito, ¿cual solución eléctrico tiene tu tío para su cabaña? ¿esta conectado al red de suministro local? { dijiste antes que obtiene su agua vía un vecino quien tiene una hacienda ... tienes fotos que podridas mandar al foro? }

Creo que Is y yo estábamos caminando en Newark, Nueva Jersey, cuando decidió tratar de hablar con un extraño en la calle. Tuvo que probar un puñado de idiomas antes de que el extraño le entendió.

No seas demasiado celoso. Ya nos superó a la fecha de su nacimiento. Lo consiguió a través de sus genes. Sus padres son ambos muy buenos lingüistas, si no recuerdo mal.

Hey, as long as Peter doesn't resort to Bavarian, we're OK on the language front. I was once stopped by a highway patrol south of Munich, near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and did not understand a s i n g l e word he said. So with our mix of Asturian, English, Spanish and German, we're fine right now...

Art--I do remember that incident in Newark the day of the heavy snowfall when we schlepped to Union Station and seriously needed hats. I think the woman turned out to be Italian and not Portuguese or Brazilian, as I had originally thought. Enit? How is your Aunt Betty?

Anyway, Peter, back to the question about my uncle. He's an engineering buff, like many of my friends in Asturias, and he likes to tinker with tools and machines. Up in L'Infiestu he has no electricity so he rigged out the cabin with a diesel-powered generator, which makes a lot of noise and is not very practical as it is heavy/dirty. He's been exploring PV panels with 45 degree angles for the roof, but the problem there is theft. A single PV panel would be enough for him, but the price is still out of reach.

The water itself, as I said, is just piped down through PVC across a few fields. Sometimes he needs to get out there for upkeep, but it's usually just a matter of a half-hour.
