Someone might be interested, and may want to attend:
Santa Fe, NM is celebrating 400th year as a city. The Fiesta de Santa Fe is celebrated in the first, and second week in September 2009 thru' Sept. 2010, and King Juan Carlos has been invited. He has been to the area many times. To my knowledge the last time being the opening of the Spanish Cultural Center in Alburquerque, NM three years ago. I will update any official news as to whether or not he will be attending.

During today’s meeting, Mayor Coss personally invited King Juan Carlos to participate in Santa Fe’s 400th Anniversary and presented the king with a formal invitation. “Santa Fe is extremely proud of our Spanish heritage and we want to share this pride with the rest of the world,” the invitation states.
Mayor Coss is optimistic that King Juan Carlos will take part in Santa Fe’s unique and historic commemoration, just as Queen Elizabeth participated in the 400th anniversary of Jamestown, Virginia.
“During our meeting with the King Juan Carlos, the King expressed great interest in New Mexico,” said Governor Richardson. “I commend Mayor David Coss for forging the relationship with Spain and inviting the King to Santa Fe’s 400th Anniversary Celebration. I am confident the relationship between Spain, the city of Santa Fe and the State of New Mexico will continue to grow.
