If someone could translate this I would be very appreciative. :)

I spoke to Nate. He will also be interviewing Alejandro Gispert who is a luthier of pipes. Nate and Alejandro will have much in common as they are both bagpipe makers. Alejandro is a craftsman who works at The National Centre for Conservation, Restoration and Museum studies (CENCREM) http://www.cencrem.co.cu/ He is also the leader of the Havana's Galician Pipe Band, Banda de Gaitas de la Sociedad Agrupación Artística Gallega.
He was mentored by Eduardo Lorenzo featured in the documentary “Los últimos gaiteros de La Habana” Eduardo urged Alejandro to learn the craft of making pipes to ensure that the tradition of the gaita remains alive in Cuba.
Alejandro makes Galician and Asturian bagpipes. He rents a lathe to produce them. One goal of the Canadian-Cuban Celtic Society will be to see if we can import a lathe to Cuba and donate it to Alejandro's workshop. We will be raising money in Canada and Nate's documentary will help publicise our efforts.
Presently Alejandro is making a Asturian bagpipe for a Pinar Del Rio musician. Pinar Del Rio is a farming area in Cuba. The Asturian Society of Pinar Del Rio only have two Asturian bagpipes that many musicians share.

Nate clarified his project:
Nate Banton wrote:Thanks for mentioning the kickstarter link! I'm trying to raise money for a camera to document the great comeback that the Cuban bagpipers have made. It's just fantastic. And yes, we'll also be raising money for a lathe for Alejandro Gispert.

I'm afraid that raising money for the lathe will be the easy part. Getting it to to Cuba will be the hard part! We're hoping the documentary will bring awareness of the pipers and make that part easier.

I haven't yet talked to Alejandro Gispert, who is the Cuban piper working on making pipes. His pipe teacher, before he died, made him promise to learn to make pipes. And I know he has made a couple sets of pipes on a rented lathe. I believe he taught himself! So I won't be teaching anyone to make pipes, but I'll do my best to give him some pointers to make things easier.
