Eastern Asturian. This has these features of general Asturian, but is differs from the other dialects of the province and is like Montañés [a variety of Asturian], as we have said, in using an aspirated h in place of the Latin f. The boundary of this important difference runs along the valley of the River Sella: from Ribadesella, Cangas de Onis and Oseja de Sajambre toward Santander. Here they say haba, hierro and helechu, while from Colunga, Infiesto and Caso toward Galicia they say faba, fierro and felechu. A study of the language of one place in this region, the parish of Nueva, between Llanes and Ribadesella, was issued [by] G. Laverde Ruiz, Apuntes lexigraficosMarch 10, 2017, in the Revista de Asturias (August of 1879 and April of 1889). There is little written in the dialect of this region exist; an excellent sample can be seen in A. González Abin’s Hueyinas del mio Güertin, prose and verses in the dialect of Llanes (Madrid, 1911).
