The forum time doesn't change with daylight savings time

Post by Art »

That's right. The forum software can't deal with the complexity of the many different dates and patterns of Daylight Savings Time. But you can easily fix it by hand.

If it is Spring or Summer and you are in daylight savings time, your forum time may be one hour too early.

If it is Fall or Winter and you are NOT in daylight savings time, your forum time may be one hour too late.

Either way, go to your profile (in the menu at the top left of the screen).

At the bottom of the profile, next to last item, you'll see "Timezone."

Spring or summer: If you are one hour too early, choose 1 hour less than it is currently set at. If you live in the eastern United States, for example, it was probably set at: GMT -5 Hours. Set it at GMT -4 Hours instead.

Fall or winter: If you are one hour too late, choose 1 hour more than it is currently set at. If you live in the eastern United States, for example, it was probably set at: GMT -4 Hours. Set it at GMT -5 Hours instead.

Either way, then click on the screen outside of the Timezone field. (If you don't do this, the time will probably change as you scroll down.) Before leaving this area of the screen look again to be sure the time is still set correctly and the background is no longer deep blue (the blue background means the object is still selected).

Scroll down, if necessary, and click on "Submit." Your time should be okay again until the next time we go through a shift in or out of Daylight Savings.
