Anmoore footage available for short time
I recently found a home movie of my grandparents, Tim & Wilma Garcia, residents of Anmoore, West Virginia. The 10 minute movie is available on the internet but I must send you an invitation to view by e-mail. The video is only available for online viewing until approximately July 21, 2010. Pleas...

Well I graduated with Jim Marino so you can bet that I will be teasing him about this at our next Roosevelt-Wilson high school reunion!

Willing to assist - conference planning
I am willing to assist with the conference planning. Even though I live in Florida, I've planned events nationally for my business.

Dempsey & Tino Garcia
It's likely that my great grandfather may have worked in the mine in Gypsy. Most of the early family photos have Gypsy, WV written on the back. Also, my grandfather's photo appeared in a mining company newsletter. The photo cutline reads something like: "Tino Garcia hunts with his dog, Dempsey....

Info. on Gypsy, WV
Many of the old photos (1920's) of my grandfather, Celestino "Tim" Fernandez Garcia shows him in Gypsy, West Virginia. It appears that my grandfather and his parents (Ulpiano and Virginia Fernandez Garcia) may have resided in Gypsy. I'm a Clarksburg native but I don't know much about Gypsy...

Suarez in Anmoore
On a recent visit to Clarksburg, I read a City Directory from the 1920's that lists my great grandfather, Ulpiano Fernandez - and his son, Tim Garcia - were boarders in the home of Jos. Suarez. Does anyone know whether this would have been Josephine Suarez? So now I'm most interested in Anmoore's Su...

Florida
Just last weekend, I was at a party in an affluent neighborhood in Gainesville, Florida. Someone inquired where I was raised. When I said "West Virginia", the person laughed in front of a group of people and said, "And you admit that!" Then came all of the in-breeding jokes. This...

t-shirts - cafepress
I poked around on Cafe Press. There does not appear to be a grey shirt offered. White t-shirt is 13.99; yellow $14.99; dark (which looks black to me) $18.99. Advantages to cafe press is that they do all of the work - but they also keep most of the money. Asturianus could keep the proceeds above Cafe...

Asturian shirts, hats, etc.
I would buy several shirts, as described...one for me and more for family members. I agree that cafepress is a good idea in order to simplify the sales process. I don't know much about t-shirt costs but believe that maybe the price increases as more colors are added? And of course, the quality of th...

Seeking family currently in Aviles
A distant cousin has given me names of relatives whom she met while visiting in Aviles in the late 80's. They corresponded by mail for awhile but we have not heard from them in several years. I would like to make contact. If anyone in Aviles knows the following people and could give them my contact ...

Asturia movie
I was spellbound by the movie. It was thrilling to see so many of Asturian descent discussing their heritage and family experiences in the United States. Plus, I loved the footage of people living in Asturias recalling the experiences of loved ones' voyages to the U.S. I found it interesting that I ...

I would be most interested to learn about Ugradstudent's sources regarding Anmoore. I'm trying to write about my family's life in Anmoore but I'm not finding many sources.

Meadowbrook
My grandmother, Wilma Craig, (daughter of Jesse and Frieda Craig) grew-up in Spelter but her birth record shows Meadowbrook. All of these name changes get really confusing.

Anmoore School
My father, now 70 years old, grew-up in Anmoore - son of Celestino (Tim) Garcia. All of my father's elementary report cards are in my possession, and he attended Grasselli Elementary School. He graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1955. I'm assuming that Grasselli School was in Anmoore. Does any...

Were your relatives at this birthday party?
I ran across a news clipping from the Clarksburg Telegram, February 1952 headlined, "Birthday Party Fetes Paul Edward Garcia". Did any of your relatives attend my uncle's party or do you recognize the names? The clipping reads: Mr. and Mrs. Tim F. Garcia of Anmoore, honored their son, Paul...
